The Art of Painting and Singing lyrics from the first three albums of the Grammy-winning artist
With the Grammy Awards set to air on Sunday, a new musical by the Americana singer-songwriter and Grammy-nominated artist Michael Jackson is set to enter the spotlight with an all-star cast that includes the former Queen frontman and Emmy Award-winning producer, John Legend.
The singer-musician-producer-actor-songstress group includes a slew of Grammy Award winners, including the Grammy Award-winner and Tony-winning actor John Legend, as well as the Academy Award-nominee and Emmy-nomined composer John Legend and the Grammy winner and Tony winner, Tony-nominating producer/songwriter Joni Mitchell.
It will also include two Grammy Award nominations: Best New Artist and Best Rap Album.
The new Jackson album, titled The Thrill of the Chase, is the follow-up to 2012’s Thrill Jockey, which became a platinum-selling album.
The album features the song “Lil B,” and it’s also the first time that Jackson has collaborated with legendary producer, songwriter, and musician Paul McCartney, who co-wrote the album with Jackson and featured on “Lolita.”
This is the first collaboration between the two men, who are best known for their hits “The Way You Make Me Feel,” “I Am the Walrus,” “It Ain’t Me Babe,” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
As for the lyrics, the new album features Jackson’s collaboration with McCartney, the latter of which he wrote on the album’s lead single, “All Along the Watchtower.”
The song is the album track, which was a hit for the songwriter with the song.
“LOLITA” IS A PERFECT ENTRY INTO THE GRAMMY NOMINEES LIST, SAYS JOHN LEGEND.
“It’s a great addition to the GRAMMYS songwriting staff, a wonderful addition to all the music that Michael has produced, and it makes the album even better.
We can’t wait to see what he brings to the table on the new music!” said John Legend in a statement.
“We are thrilled to welcome Michael Jackson to the world of Grammy nominations.
His musical talent and passion for music is as incredible as it is brilliant.
He is a master at capturing the emotions of the moment and giving it a sense of weight and significance.
He has the talent to write songs that transcend the genres and genres of music that we are all familiar with, and his work will have fans everywhere.”
