Tampa Photographers Get $150,000 to Write About the Film Industry
Tampa photographers will get to write about the film industry for a limited time in a $150k scholarship program, a photojournalism agency said Tuesday.
The program will help them take photos for the Tampa Bay Times, the Tampa Tribune, and the Tampa Sentinel.
The Tampa Bay Photographers Scholarship Program was launched Monday, with applicants signing a statement of intent and agreeing to complete a “proper photography education.”
The first applicant will receive $50,000, which the agency said is a maximum offer.
It said the winner will have the opportunity to meet with representatives of the Tampa Film Commission, the city of Tampa, and a film-industry advisory committee to find a new home.
The winner must be a native of the U.S. and have completed a minimum of one semester of study at an accredited film school.

The deadline for applications is Sept. 1.
